Mooresville Regulations and Local Rules
Mooresville has installed state of the art GPS systems in their fleet of golf cars. This will enable members and guests to have access to all yardage information as well as an electronic scorecard.
Restricted areas have been created so the car will come to a stop and send a message to the player to put the car in reverse and back out of these areas. MGC hopes you will enjoy all the benefits of the GPS system.
U.S.G.A rules apply except for the following local rules.
Penalty Areas: Water penalty areas are marked by yellow stakes and/or yellow lines
Penalty Areas: Lateral penalty areas are marked by red stakes and/or red lines.
Out of Bounds: Out of bounds are marked by white stakes.
Ground under Repair: Ground under repair is designated by roped areas or white lines (drop at closest point of relief, no closer to the hole.)
Drop Area: A drop area is provided on holes #9, #10 and #16 and will be marked beside cart paths. A free drop area is provided on hole #4 for balls entering the club house area.
Lost Ball or Out of Bounds Ball: “When a player’s ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds or lost, the player may proceed as follows rather than proceeding under stroke and distance if a provisional ball has not been hit.
For two penalty strokes, the player may take relief by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area (see Rule 14.3):
Mooresville Golf Club management has the discretion to change local course rules depending upon the conditions of the course. The local rules may also be changed for tournaments, but any changes will be decided and communicated prior to commencing play.
